Training advocates across WA

Free Advocacy Training

Through the Your Streets Your Say program, Cascade provides people with the skills to become effective community advocates. We believe that powerful community members in any corner of the state can make their neighborhoods safer, healthier, and more equitable places.

We don't have any additional 2023 trainings planned. Check back for details in 2024.

Since 2011, Cascade has trained over 200 caring neighbors living throughout the state, from Yakima to Vancouver to Puget Sound. After almost a decade of sharing these trainings in person, the trainings went virtual in 2020 and have retained that setting to make Your Streets Your Say more accommodating to folks across the state. This format still delivers the same great content, including conversations with guest speakers, case studies, small group discussions, and expert trainers. The curriculum includes the following:

1. The power of your personal story

2. Making change: how safe streets projects and initiatives take shape, who's involved, and how to participate effectively

3. Communications and media messaging

4.  Building and sustaining coalitions.
