Let's meet at the west end of the Gas Works Park parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

This ride will take deep dives into Ravenna Park, the Center for Urban Horticulture, the Washington Park Arboretum, Interlaken Park, Volunteer Park, Cal Anderson Park, and finish with an homage to Gas Works Park. We'll also make a brief stop to pay our respects to Bruce and Brandon Lee. Several of the parks have gravel roads so if you have a road bike you will need to feel comfortable riding it on gravel. Most of the gravel is tightly packed but there are a few spots where the gravel is less so.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. There will be a couple of stops for restrooms/water in the parks.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

Hi Cheryl, I'm required to go through the SMART talk with all of the riders and if you join the ride after it has started I would have to go through it again and that would be a hassle for the other riders who heard it at the beginning of the ride. Sorry about that and hopefully you can still join us. Richard
