Let's meet out in front of the restrooms at Jack Block Park. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We'll be taking a 32.7mi ride to Three Trees Point and back via the Duwamish Trail and Des Moines Memorial Drive with a stop at Grand Central Bakery for coffee and snack before heading back along Marine View Drive and Beach Drive. This ride features scenic water views along with lots of longer climbs and drops. The first section is flat, followed by a long steady climb up Des Moines Memorial, a short steep hill to get into Burien, and then a long winding descent to Three Trees before a steady climb back to our coffee stop. We'll then cruise up 4th Ave and over 116th and 106th until our descent of Marine View Drive. From there it's a little climb past Lincoln Park and then quick drop to Beach Drive and flat cruise back to our starting point at Jack Block Park.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup occasionally at the top of major hills. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 17.7 at our coffee/snack stop at Grand Central Bakery in downtown Burien.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.

We hope you can join us!

I made a few minor updates to the route based on my scouting trip to 1) avoid blackberries and sharp turn on S Henderson Street and 2) avoid a very steep hill that I'd previously added due to construction. Net change minimal - 0.1mi longer and 30ft less elevation. RWGPS route linked above is updated in case you want to download it or the cue sheet - Alki to Three Trees Point and Back - A bike ride in Seattle, WA (ridewithgps.com) Looking forward to seeing you for the ride tomorrow, weather is looking good so far.
