Let's meet at the Global Garden Shovel Sculpture just north of the Columbia City Light Rail Station. Be there, ready to go at 4:00 pm. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

This ride will take us through some of the beautiful bike ways in Southeast Seattle, including Columbian Way, Mountains to Sound Trail, Lake Washington Boulevard, and the Chief Sealth Trail. After 16 miles of moderately hilly terrain, we'll end at the Columbia City Night Market's beer garden for social time. The Night Market is a bicycle-friendly community event organized by Peace Peloton, and includes food trucks, live music, and more than 50 vendors--all businesses owned by People of Color. Stick around and shop!

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently, after major climbs. You can expect a leisurely pace of 10-12 MPH on the flats and significantly less on uphill sections. All types of bikes and all bodies are welcome on this ride.

Restrooms are not available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms and a break at Seward Park (mile 8).

Bring a lights for your bike, and a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.

We hope you can join us!
