Let's meet at Jack Block Park and please be ready to ride at 9:45 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

Please join us for this ride to Tukwila and back.  Our goal will be to enjoy the colors of fall along the banks of the Duwamish Waterway and River before all the leaves are gone.  The ride begins at Jack Block Park in West Seattle.  (We'll meet near the parking area within the park.) The ride follows the Alki Trail, the Duwamish Trail and the Green River Trail to Fort Dent (a/k/a  Starfire Sports Center), then we will return to the start.  On the way back, we'll detour for coffee at a Starbucks in Tukwila.  Much of the trail is on bike paths, but at certain points we will ride on city streets.

We will leave Jack Block Park at 9:45 a.m.  Parking, restrooms and water are available at the Park.  You can also reach the start via the Rapid Ride “C” bus (use the first stop after crossing the West Seattle high bridge). Bring a spare tube in case of flats and whatever else you might need to address mechanical issues.

This Is a social ride, and we will stay together.  The pace is “steady,” which means riders should be comfortable with riding 12-14 mph on a flat road without headwind.  Our average speed will be less than the listed pace, given that the route is punctuated by occasional traffic lights and two sets of railroad tracks.

Showers cancel.  If a cancellation is necessary due to rain or other unforeseen circumstances, ride leader will post a notice in the comments section two hours prior to the start.
