Event Description:
On Thursday morning from 10am to 11:30am join ABC.Seattle and the Pedaling Relief Project for a fun midweek ride to rescue boxes of sushi for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service in the Chinatown-International District!
Ride details
10:15am - Meet at the Seattle Commissary Kitchen loading dock (map)
Once everyone arrives and we hook up trailers we will check-in with our contact at the Seattle Commissary Kitchen.
As riders arrive we'll hook up bike trailers and hand out food safe gloves.
10:20am - Everyone loads their bikes up with banana boxes of fresh sushi for the food bank.
Every week Seattle Commissary Kitchen donates 4 full banana boxes of fresh sushi to the food bank.
10:30am - We'll start riding up to the ACRS food bank in the northeast part of the Chinatown-International District. The route is 1.5 miles and we will stay together as a group. (see RWGPS route)
11:00am - We'll arrive arrive at the ACRS food bank loading dock just off S Weller St and drop-off the sushi with their staff and volunteers.
The ACRS food bank will then use the rescued shushi to provide a valuable culturally specific food option to the food insecure families that they support in the community.
(Option) After the ride - If the weather is nice enough we'll get lunch, coffee, or tea in the Chinatown-International District!
If you borrowed a bike trailer make sure that it is given back to the ride organizer who gave it to you at the start of the ride.
For the ride, bring
- A bike;
- A helmet;
- A bike lock (we'll be riding together for the food rescue, but it's best to bring a lock just in case);
