Free Sounders Bike Parking: 'I Love You Guys!'
  • Are you driving to Sounders games? Pedal instead and avoid the traffic congestion.
  • Thanks to a partnership with the Seattle Sounders, Cascade is offering Free Bike Parking for the June 24, July 1, Aug. 20, and Sept. 2 games.

The smiles say it all. Everyone who rode their bike to the June 3 Seattle Sounders game at Lumen Field arrived happy.

Why? They didn't have to drive or hunt for a parking space. The kids who arrived on bikes with their parents may have loved it most!

If you're a Sounders fan, ditch the car commute and ride your bike to Lumen Field for the June 24, July 1, Aug. 20, and Sept. 2 games. Thanks to our partnership with the Sounders and support from Providence Swedish, Cascade is providing free and secure bike parking at 12 Sounders home games this season.

Check out the photos below of all the happy people who took advantage of our free bike parking at the June 3 game. We packed our bike corral with more than 250 bikes of all styles: electric bikes, cargo bikes with child seats, clunkers, commuters, kids bikes, road bikes, and even some scooters.

Here's what people told us:

“I love the sounders bike parking because I don’t have to drive up here and deal with parking.”

“I can ride my bike from my house to the train station and take my bike on the train. It’s fantastic. And now I’ve got a nice safe place to leave my bike.”

"I can bike from my home in Port Townsend. Catch the ferry. Put my bike safely away. And I know great people are watching it. I love you guys!"

Roman, above, pedaled his Giant mountain bike to the game.

Dropping off your bike is easy. When you arrive at the green Cascade tent, we give you a ticket to fill out with your name and phone number. We help you park your bike in an enclosed and secure bike corral. You return after the game (within in an hour of the game ending) to retrieve your bike. We are located off Occidental Avenue just north of Lumen Field.

Many parents rode electric cargo bikes and carried their kids.

Sarah, below, is part of Cascade's bike parking crew. Look how happy she is! Cascade arrives several hours before game time to set up the bike racks and fencing. We smile the whole time!

Cascade staff keep an eye on your bikes during the game.

Look at all the happy customers who pedaled to the game on June 3!

Cascade provides this free service because there aren't enough bike racks near the stadium. People are more likely to ride to games if they have a secure place to park their bikes.

We hope to expand this great partnership with the Sounders to all home games in 2024. It's a win win win because we fit 250 bikes in a space equivalent to about 20 parking spaces. That's hundreds of cars we are keeping off the roads to reduce traffic congestion and cut down on climate pollution. Talk about scoring a goal for sustainability!
