What to look for in a bike

There are a few basic qualities to look for in a bike that will serve you well for many enjoyable miles.

  • Fit: The bike must suit your unique height, inseam, torso and arm length
  • Frame: strong, but light
  • Brakes: easy to use and strong enough to stop quickly
  • Gears: enough gearing to deal with your terrain (more hills = more gears = more efficiency).
  • Shifters: easy to use and responsive
